The new visual identity for the city of Brasov shows its well known historical image as well as its innovative character which can be used for city marketing activities. The visual identity unites traditional elements with newly designed elements and reveals both historical and modern spirit of Brasov.
The identity crisis felt by the cities of Romania is also felt on a visual level. The lack of consistent and coherent visual communication programmes is more than obvious. In this context, the attempt to represent such a vast concept (the city's identity) is more actual than ever.
The actual logo was inspired from an old emblem of the city, redesigned yet easily recognizible. One of the ambitions of this project was to redesign an appropriate symbol with strong meanings, a modern symbol based on tradition history and culture.
